Elm Park
Today was the Big Dipper All-You-Can Eat Ice Cream Festival at Elm Park. I volunteered for the first aid tent and in the afternoon I took this photo of the northern side of the park. The weather and the lighting was just right, people were lounging in the shade of the trees, this reminded me of that painting by Georges Seurat.

Saying Goodbye…
Saying goodbye to my Windows 7 Toshiba Satellite L775D. This was my work and home laptop from August (a birthday present to myself) 2011 to May 2014, when I upgraded to a Windows 8.1 Dell Inspiron M731R.
This Toshiba was a solid laptop and never gave me any issues. I would still be using it but I got a really good, but time-sensitive, deal to purchase a new one. At least I know it will be in good hands… I’m re-installing Windows 7 and a few more apps and selling it to Floyd, our facilities man at work.

The Dude Abides
Kristy and Gabe at The Big Lebowski at City Hall Plaza. Next month is Goonies and August is Finding Nemo. This the third summer that Worcester Film Works has organized their free outdoor movie series. Kudos!

WWC @ CF
The Worcester Writer’s Collaborative held their Summer Meet & Greet in the Great Hall of Children’s Friend. The Great Hall was designed as a chapel when the daughter of the mansion’s original owner got married back in the 1920’s. (Yeah, this is where I work). Anyways, it was a good night, well attended, and we got to meet some new writing folks from all over Central Mass.

Dancing in the Streets….
Well, eating in the streets, at least. It’s a photo from Taste of Shrewsbury Street. It was a great night for it. I went with Sarah and one of her co-workers and saw Michelle there. Thanks to Worcester State University Alumni Office for the tickets.

Yatta!!!
We did it! Paul B, Me, Jena and Paul C on the top of Mount Watatic, the endpoint of the Mid State Trail. We first started this hike on Memorial Day Weekend 2013. Over thirteen months, we negotiated weekends, commitments, and four peoples’ busy schedules and knocked off 10 to 20 miles here and there throughout the summer, fall, winter and spring. It took me longer to walk these 95 miles than it did the 4250 miles across America, but I have to admit the company was better 😉 PS. More hiking adventures to come later this year!

The end… or the beginning?
This marker is the northern terminus (or the beginning) of the Mid State Trail. Last May we took a photo with its counterpart, 95 miles miles south on the Rhode Island border.
