Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on July 31, 2011

Tonight Jen and I went to Waterfire in Providence. While we were there we met up with Paul and Ralitsa, my friends from college, and Diana, Jen’s friend from medical school.

It’s … TJ!

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on July 30, 2011

Today Jen and I drove to Rhode Island to visit her brother and his fiancee. We had a kller game of bocci ball on the beach. We also stopped by her friend Liz’s family cottage near the water. Here is Liz’s sister, Christine, Jen, and Liz’s son TJ (pic taken July 30 2011).

Go Tornandoes!

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on July 29, 2011

At last night’s Tornadoes game with my nieces, Emma and Siobhan. It was a fun game… unfortunately we left at the top of the 11th before it was over. It would have been cool to stay up late and be with the kids when they saw their first walk-off homer (which happened in the bottom of the 12th), but Uncle Bob has to be the responsible uncle 😛

Niece beans

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on July 28, 2011

My nieces from Philadelphia are staying with us this week, sans parents. I think they are 9 and 7. Last night we set up a sheet out and a laptop projector and watched a movie out in the back yard. Tonight we’re going to a Worcester Tornadoes baseball game. Before the fun, though, I had them slave away in the garden, harvesting string beans.

The Honorable Ambassador to Red Sox Nation

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on July 26, 2011

At the annual Clark University Night at Fenway. Kansas City Royals vs. the Boston Red Sox. My girlfriend Jen got to go on the field before opening pitch to represent Clark Univ. That’s her in the line of people behind home plate.

Another Photo from The 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on July 26, 2011

This Army veteran has walked several 3 Days since his sister died of the disease in 2003. I’m not sure if his pink fatigues or pink ribbon coif is Army regulation, but it’s great for the 3 Day.

Last Woman Standing

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on July 24, 2011

The Pit 4 Crew cheers for the “caboose” – the very last of the 1700 walkers to cross into our rest stop. It’s these walkers, the slowest who are having the most difficulty limping on but who just don’t want to give up, who are the most inspiring.

It’s Hazardous Out There…

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on July 22, 2011

Me and long-time volunteer Colleen at the 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer. Colleen and I met when we volunteered in 2005. And we worked 06, 07, 09, 10 and this year together. Today temps touched 100 degrees. It was so hoy that organizers cut the route from 20 miles to about 17. At our pit we sent four women to the ER due to nausea, dehydration, and headaches. I was almost on that list, too, but I powered through. Tomorrow’s heat is going to be just a 3-4 degrees cooler, in the mid-90s. Organizers are starting the route earlier (6 am) to help get walkers off before the heat hits full force.

Me and Kelley

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on July 21, 2011

Over the weekend I drove up to New Hampshire and met up with Kelley, a good friend who use to work with me at Mass College of Pharmacy. We went for ice cream at a famous restaurant in Manchester (I can’t remember the name, it was described as the one “that everyone goes to”) and then walked around Livingston Park.
