Community Engagement

Every year, the Colleges of Worcester Consortium chooses one student or organization from each of its member schools (Holy Cross, Clark, MCPHS, Anna Maria, Worcester State, Atlantic Union, Assumption, sorry if I missed any…) to receive its Community Engagement Award. Some of the winners this year have organized Special Olympics events, tree replanting initiatives, and student-nurse community outreach. From UMass Medical School they chose Jen for her volunteer work with the Worcester Free Health Clinics.

The Celtic 5K

I volunteered today for Worcester’s Celtic 5K. Another firefighter/EMT and I were assigned to the mid-turnaround point. Luckily we had no cases. Congrats to all the runners, including my friend Kristi Collins. For me, it was good practice for the Boston Marathon next month.
