Tonight I went out to dinner in Central Square with Arlene and Frak, my friend from Atlanta who was in Boston for a business training.

Paella Playa
For Valentine’s Dinner last night, Jen and I made mixed paella, using shrimp, artichoke, and turkey sausage. The real winner, by the way, was the side: roasted broccoli topped with sea salt and a dash of lemon.

A little civility, people…
I found this note on the sidewalk in front of Jen’s condo. It’s getting rough out there. (For the record, it has nothing to do with Jen… she parks in the garage).

Your 2011 T&G Young Leader
My girlfriend Jen was awarded the 2011 Worcester Telegram & Gazette Young Leader Award. Tonight was the award ceremony at Mechanic’s Hall, and here is Jen on stage with T&G Editor Leah Lamson, Publisher Brian Gaultney, and (behind) Mass. Governor Deval Patrick . (Also receiving the Cultural Achievement award was Worcester Art Museum’s longtime Director, Jim Welu). Afterwards was a reception and it was good to see all the people in one place from the different organizations where Jen helps out – the Red Cross, the health clinics, Children’s Friend, UMass Injury Prevention… We are all very proud to say we know her.
