Red Sox Nation
Jen and I with the 2013 World Series trophy, when it came to the Worcester Historical Museum in February. This photo means a lot to me. On my desk at home I have a very similar photo from the Red Sox’s first World Series trophy tour, taken with my mom a few months before she passed away in 2005.

The World Below the Brine
By Walt Whitman
The world below the brine,
Forests at the bottom of the sea, the branches and leaves,
Sea-lettuce, vast lichens, strange flowers and seeds, the thick
tangle openings, and pink turf,
Different colors, pale gray and green, purple, white, and gold, the
play of light through the water,
Dumb swimmers there among the rocks, coral, gluten, grass, rushes,
and the aliment of the swimmers,
Sluggish existences grazing there suspended, or slowly crawling
close to the bottom,
The sperm-whale at the surface blowing air and spray, or disporting
with his flukes,
The leaden-eyed shark, the walrus, the turtle, the hairy
sea-leopard, and the sting-ray,
Passions there, wars, pursuits, tribes, sight in those ocean-depths,
breathing that thick-breathing air, as so many do,
The change thence to the sight here, and to the subtle air breathed
by beings like us who walk this sphere,
The change onward from ours to that of beings who walk other spheres.

BeGreen, but really?
I like how Pilot’s BeGreen BoardMaster Dry Erase Marker is “refillable” and “made of recycled contents,” but uses a gratuitous amount of cardboard packaging. Oh well.

Double Trouble
Trying to troubleshoot a mouse issue on a co-worker’s laptop (right), using my own laptop (left) as the control (they are both Toshiba Satellites). Going to be a long night :p

First Descents Climbathon
Here’s a photo from the First Descents Climbathon yesterday (March 1) at the Rock Spot in Lincoln. This is me ascending a 5.6 (a relatively easy course). Mike D is belaying for me. Having fun and raising money for a good cause – it was a fun morning.
