Hello from Fenway Park
It was a great day for walking, sunny, cool, and just a little breezy. Paul G, Kristin, Arlene, Jesse, and Josh walked a few miles from the State House to Brookline with me. Not pictured are Jen and Jenn. Timna and Sky met up with us later. Big props go to Jesse, who walked all the way to Framingham with me.

Tableaux Vivants at the Worcester Art Museum Pt. 3
One last photo from Saturday’s event at WAM: John’s daughter, Olivia, is The Girl with the Blue Dress (Kiki Smith, German, 2004).
There were lots more models, about 16 altogether, depicting paintings, and the night was quite fun. This was the first time the Worcester Art Museum has done a Tableaux Vivants (that I know of), and I’m hoping we’ll will do it again soon.

Tableaux Vivants I
This weekend the Worcester Art Museum said goodbye to Director Jim Welu, who had been with the museum for over thirty years. As a special sendoff, we presented “Tableaux Vivants,” in which local actors (mostly college students majoring in drama), portrayed some of the museum’s artwork, complete with props and costume. Here, a patron interacts with American Frank Benson’s Portrait of My Daughters (you can just see the 1905(ish) painting in the background). (The “daughters” are actually a middle school girl and two Holy Cross sophomores).
In all there were about 16 pieces of art brought to life, and the event was fun, unique, and brought in quite the crowd. I’ll post more photos later this week.

Where the heck are we?
This afternoon Jen, Jenn, Josh and I went to Davis Mega Maze, a corn maze in Sterling. It was… wait for it… A-MAZE-ing. Ha!
Seriously, it was harder than we expected. We were in for about two and and a half hours, and finished only half the quests. But it was fun and we didn’t have to call 911 to rescue us.

Improvination
Last night Michelle, Susan, Hilary, Leslie and I went to see Leslie’s daughter, Amanda, perform at WPI. It being WPI, it was a science-themed improv comedy show. Amanda and her co-actors played together in The Second City, and the whole show was pretty entertaining. In this photo Amanda shows off her amazing rubber arm, or it could just be my cell phone camera.

Matt and Tara’s wedding
This evening we went to the wedding of Matt and Tara. Tara is one of Jen’s co-workers in her lab at UMass. I’ll always remember that no matter how self-conscoius I feel on the dance floor, I’m still a better dancer than the Taiwanese post-docs.
The reception was held at the Harding Allen Estate in Barre, two thumbs up because Barre is a quaint little New England town just north of Worcester.
