Jiminy Peak

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on May 25, 2014

This weekend Jen and I went to our friends Jamie and Corey’s wedding. The wedding was at Jiminy Peak Ski Resort in Hancock, Mass., right on the NY border. On Sunday morning I climbed the mountain (elev 2375 ft) and took this photo. If you look veeeery closely in the bottom center, you can just see the chuppah and the chairs set out. It was a fun wedding!

I’ve been infiltrated!

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on May 23, 2014

I’ve been donating blood and platelets for 20 years, and this is the first time I’ve had a technical mishap. I should have some cool bruises to show after this.

Floyd

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on May 22, 2014

Here at work, our offices are split between a 120-year-old Victorian and a neighboring 90-year-old brick mansion. Anyone who’s ever lived in an old house knows the charm is sometimes balanced out by the need for upkeep. Floyd, our facilities manager, keeps our buildings humming, from shoveling the snow to installing light fixtures to hunting down the source of a strange smell in the HVAC system. Here he’s painting a replacement finial he copied from the original and crafted himself.

Do Si Do’s, anyone?

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on May 21, 2014

Two weeks out of the summer, I serve as the medical director for a church-based/inner city day camp. We don’t have a lot of funds, and the last few years we’ve been fortunate the Girl Scouts of America in Worcester has generously donated Girl Scout cookies that we give out as afternoon snacks. This year we received a whopping 48 cases…. here’s Pastor Matt and my co-director Jena unloading them from our cars (this is only about 2/3 of the entire haul!).

Volturno

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on May 20, 2014

A few co-workers went out for drinks after work tonight. We went to Volturno, a relatively new restaurant on Shrewsbury Street. They have a bunch of specialty pizzas and since we had so many people we could test about half the menu and share around. Pistachio Pizza? Yum. Here’s my co-worker Caitlin and her wife Sophie.

A Worcester Visit

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on May 19, 2014

My college friend Josh, his wife Jenn, and and their new son Mark were in Worcester and stopped by to see Jen and me. The past few years, the four of us have picked one night each summer to go to a drive-in movie. Now with an infant and Jen moving away, it’s a little sad but I guess it’s an opportunity to start new traditions.

Better Home and Garden

Posted in Uncategorized by BJ Hill on May 18, 2014

Seth and Cassidy, my little cousins, came up from Rhode Island today and helped Uncle Stan and Aunt Rose (their grandparents) plant flowers and prepare the vegetable garden. (After a disappointing FY13 Q1 performance, we decided to make drsatic cuts to the cucumbers and pepper departments and instead we’re allocating more assets to our cherry tomato production.)

Tonight we’re at Jen’s 10th year reunion at Clark University. This is the room she lived in from 2000-2001 at Johnson Hall.

Unimpressed

Poor parking job, Becker College Police. If this was any other vehicle, this would be a ticket for partially blocking a driveway.
